Copy edit an existing financial services website

We are looking for a Copy Editor to edit (and write where needed) sections of website copy for our existing and potential clients to make it more engaging and “user friendly”. The focus will be cutting jargon to simplify text, while still conveying the high level of expertise and professionalism of the organisation.

The process includes consolidating existing website text, rewriting sections, creating new content and providing advice in regards to page structure and navigation. The Copy Editor will also be able to suggest new sections/sub headings and potential structural changes to the flow of the website where necessary.

It is important to note that the job is primarily focused on copy editing existing text to make it more user friendly - you will not be starting from scratch. The objective of the website is to whet the appetite of people who visit the site, and provide lead generation.

A new navigation menu has been drafted and the Copy Editor will need to reassign existing content to this new structure, rewriting sections to fit where necessary. Content will be provided in Word format and we would like the project wrapped up within a month. Work can be submitted in a progressive manner (i.e. entire project doesn't need to be delivered in one complete package). A trial will be held to rewrite one section of the website to make sure the Copy Editor is fit for the job.

An interest or experience in the financial services industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
