I'd like to pirate the code used by Uber, Lyft and other GPS-based ride services and apply it to water-taxi service on the south shore of Long Island, NY.

I want an app for iPhone and Android so that myself and other boat-drivers can provide ride service to various locations from the 'mainland' of Long Island, across the 'Great South Bay' to the various beachside parks along the barrier island that's between the Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

I'd like an interface to my cell phone directly; eventually, to a hosting service for multiple boat drivers.
