I am looking for a proficient cross-platform developer who can work on an application for both iOS and Android. This app's main functionality would be to forward SMS/Text messages to other SMS, Telegram, and email addresses.
Key Objectives:
- App development competence in cross-platform development primarily focusing on iOS and Android smartphones.
- The app should have the ability to forward incoming SMS/Text messages to other SMS numbers, Telegram, and email addresses.
- An eye for detail to design a professional and corporate-looking app to resonate with our company's ethos.
Ideal Expertise:
- Expert in iOS and Android development
- Experience with integrating third-party messaging and email services
- Strong graphic design skills to create a professional and corporate aesthetic.
Requirements:
- app starts with system / smartphone start and runs in background
- app listens to the incoming messages
- on incoming message the forwarding is done by a configurable delay in milliseconds
milestones:
MS1:
implement a basic hardcoded forwarder which detects new SMS (event) and forwards them via e-mail to a hardcoded e-mail address (android and ios)
MS2:
design & implement a UI, which has a settings dialog for the rules:
- add/delete/update/display (CRUD) operations on rules
- user can choose a regex pattern to detect specific phone numbers (from)
- user can choose the destination(s) (a list of destinations) with whatsapp, telegram, sms, e-mail
- implementation in this MS on the UI only for e-mail (but user can select all the named options)
- user can choose to use macros like:
- sender phone (smsSenderPhonenumber)
- sender name (smsSenderDisplayName)
- senders text (smsBody)
- senders datetime (smsDatetime)
MS3:
help to publish on playstore and appstore
MS4:
implement the telegram integration (forwarding destination)
MS5:
implement the telegram integration (receiving telegram msgs and forward)
MS6:
implement sms sending (e.g. to forward)
MSx: (out of your current bid)
implement whatsapp integration and others too
Budget?
will not be disclosed, place your best bid to get considered
What is next?
We will share you a NDA and afterwards a paid test task.
Payment?
- you estimate in a WBS (optimistic, expected, pessimistic, where optimistic < expected < pessimistic) after getting the task
- we discuss about clearances and effort
- we mutually agree to effort
- we agree to delivery dates
- we assign you the task after mutually agreed
- you implement, test and deliver
- you provide also unit /integration tests to ensure code is always working
- you document each required step to make interaction of systems to work
- we test on our premise (you maybe help to fix issues)
- we pay
(basically the rules of freelancer)
Closed book vs open book?
We work only on open book.
Closed book means you are unwilling to define a WBS for the work and you add only a price tag to the task.
We are sorry we will not hire you in such a case!
coding requirements:
- clean code in terms of clean code book
- best practices for development (code level documentation, common patterns, OOP as possible)
- best practices for agreed and choosen libs/frameworks
Deliveries?
- in our on premise git (access will be granted to you)
- full sources
- typescript only
- full working build (for CI and local build)
- libs, need prior confirm and we prefer to use mostly latest stable versions
- JDK 17 (mostly LTS)
- your code is working on our end too
- your code passes our CI build (with provided maven [login to view URL] can be checked)
- you may require to help us here on setup
- docker compose to startup all required runtimes
- we require, depending on availability and on complexity 2-4 weeks test time per milestone. Usually clearly less
