My project requirements are multi-faceted, and can be considered detail intense. However, I will attempt to give an overarching picture, and will then further discuss once we have a shortlist of freelancers. Here are the things required from this project. I would also like to point out that upon exemplary work displayed by the freelancer/s, we may consider a long term engagement.
* Database - We need people who can create an interactive, secure database. The database will have various groups of data, which our clients will access through secure accounts also managed by the database. We lean towards open source methods; however security of data is paramount. We would also like for the database to create reports, statistics, and analytics upon usage of data.
* Website - The idea of the website is to be the face of our product, therefore, we are very interested in a good design and layout. It will feed off data from the database, and will involve login and authentication on a database level. Aesthetics and layout can be ironed out. High standard of graphics is a must.
* Mobile phone/tablet apps - We require apps for the iOS and android platforms as a must. This is for both tablet and phone levels. Windows phone and Blackberry apps are not a priority at this stage, but will be required once we enter phase 2 of our project. The apps will have similar functionality to the website, with additional features, such as location services and barcode scanning being included within the app. Further specifics can be discussed when we enter app development.
Clients will access the database through all of these mediums. They will browse for items in the list, compare certain items, and create lists once they are satisfied with their selection. We will include advertisements in both app and website platforms. Through locations services, our database will provide the clients with localised items, and provide a comparative tool. The strongest focus of this work will be the database, and its seamless interaction with the website and apps. More information can be provided upon request. We are also inviting specialised individuals or teams who would like to take on one area of focus of this project, or the entire project. We would like to see evidence of previous exemplary work also, so that we may make an informed decision as to who we are willing to choose.
