E Learning

Brief description of project objectives:

E-College is a prototype system that simulates the implementation of e-learning. The system is established as a virtual college that provides learning to students using information and communication technologies. In this system, a college is established to provide e-learning in the courses the college offers. The system will be a published on the web because it also gives the general information regarding the course offered and the e-learning services to the visitors. The system also provides an online registration facility that enables the user to register as a student. This system is basically for the student to study and learn online at anywhere they want.

The main functionality of the prototype to make completion of the project possible is that the system must have the basic functionality to let the users or students to learn online, which is to upload and download materials, examination questions.

Below are the functions of the project :-

1. Log on for students, lecturers

- each of the user need to be group

- each group have different permissions and different access2. 2.E-mail service

- lecturers can e-mail to all students enroll in the class

- students can send e-mail to lecturers

3. Administrator Functionality and Access

- create user account i.e - students and lecturer

- modify accounts i.e - delete, modify,

- problems faced by students ( emergencies, etc)

4. Lecturer Access and Functionality

- enroll the created students accounts into the course

- can modify and delete students from the course - but cannot delete the accounts in the db

- upload contents (course materials)

- wat type of file can be uploaded (i.e - doc, powerpoint, flash, gif, jpeg)

- upload results / marks of students5

5. Students Access and Functionality

- cannot delete anything but can modify their own profile(email,address,contact no, etc)

- send assignments online to the lecturer

- notification of the sending is important

- lecturer must have this functionality - to receive all the assignments into a "Receive Bin" with student name and ID attached to it.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
