I need a Visual Basic 6 function that will give me the coordinates (top left and bottom right) to the area within a bitmap that contains an image. In other words, I have a bitmap that has an image within a lot of blank space. I would like to know the coordinates of the image within the blank space. The function does not need to crop the image, I only need the coordinates. Something like: Function GetArea(SourceImage() As Byte, _ X1 As Long, Y1 As Long, _ X2 As Long, Y2 As Long) As Boolean SourceImage is a byte array of an 8 bit depth greyscale bitmap. X1 and Y1 are long integers where the function should return the coordinates to the top left corner of the image area. X2 and Y2 are long integers where the function should return the coordinates to the bottom right corner of the image area. Please note that the above sample (the one with the fingerprint) does not include what you see in red. It only includes the fingerprint within a white background. You will find a sample BMP file in the attachment.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
