Create firefox plugin or extension

I had a plugin that was working until firefox 3.6 which doesn't allow to put anything in the components folder.

I need you to rewrite the plugin as a new extension so that it's working in firefox 3.6.

You can use the source code of the original plugin if you need it.

What the plugin does:

A javascript script calls a function:

ffRunApp('[url removed, login to view]');

The ffRunApp should execute the parameter '[url removed, login to view]'

In the background a [url removed, login to view]('[url removed, login to view]') is used or something similar.
