Simple PHP redirect project

We need a simple PHP script that will display different advert links on our web pages based on their IP address by country.
For example, visitors from the USA will be automatically be shown links in the format [login to view URL], visitors from Canada will be automatically routed to [login to view URL], etc.
The links themselves will be in subdirectories by country (unless you can suggest an easier way to do all this!) and it is likely we will only have a handful of countries: USA, Canada, UK, Australia.
You can use generic destination directories in your solution. The solution should provide for the most popular countries. If a country is not configured to go to a specific URL or if a visitor's IP cannot be determined, then they should be redirected to a configurable "catch all" URL.
I'm guessing that PHP would be the easiest way to implement this as it would make the link insertion easy (there are likely to be several links per page but not all of these will need to go to a country specific link) but am open to other alternatives
