Greetings, I'd like to compile a list of several hundred "country" sayings, like: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." "He's dumber than a bag of hammers." "Like putting lipstick on a pig." "Either fish or cut bait." "They are like two peas in a pod." "You're lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut." "I'm as busy as a one-legged cat in a sandbox." "He squeezes a quarter so tight the eagle screams." "Too poor to paint, too proud to whitewash." "Those pants were so tight I could see her religion." Please write down what you know, research, or talk to folks from the Southern United States and ask their favorite sayings! I am NOT looking for "expressions" - like " Y'all reckon", or "Sit a spell", etc. They must be meaningful and wise or funny complete thoughts. Please submit ten sayings, each with a category: "Family", "Work", "Love", "Law", etc. AND a region if applicable (Appalachia, Bayou, etc) . I'm paying $1.50 per 10 new ones with a bonus for being awesome. Send in as many groups of 10 as you like, you could easily make $50 for an hour of fun work.
