Data Entry Clerk Job Responsibilities: Maintains database by entering new and updated customer and account information. Data Entry Clerk Job Duties: Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities. Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution. Enters customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format. Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures. Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data. Tests customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data; reviewing output. Secures information by completing data base backups. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. I see this project as essentially setting up and maintaining an accurate, effective and efficient database. Diligence and attention to detail will be required. My work experiences were in the fields of telecommunications and cable TV. I handled both operations management and administration. I had intensive hands-on experience in database set-ups and maintenance in the corporate setting. I know the value of accurate and up-to-date databases on customers, equipment & materials, contracts, company assets and properties. I will use a database application software to set-up and maintain/update the database. Sorting, filtering and searching for duplicates are standard features. It will also provide the flexibility to export the data to other formats when required.

I have previous experience in data entry and client records with my previous employers. I am used to work with precision and attention to details as in accountancy this is the main key to completing your tasks. I would like to know more about the data entry. For instance, where would you like to have this information worked out? On an excel spreadsheet or directly inputted onto your system? What kind of accounting software do you use?
