We are two first-time authors who have been working on an exciting educational non-fiction book for 18 months. The final draft is almost complete and we are looking to self-publish on Amazon in a month as an eBook.
The book: The book is a comprehensive resource on alcohol consumption. Although educational, it is entertaining and light-hearted. The book covers the history, mechanics, influences and economics of alcohol. There are also 10 fictional characters created in the book.
The job: In order to follow the light-hearted and entertaining theme of the book we aim to include a number of illustrations throughout the book. These will include basic chapter header illustrations, character illustrations, and other subject-related illustrations. Being an eBook release the illustrations need to be kept as 'light' as possible. Meaning we are looking for quick sketch-up (not detailed) line drawings that are black & white and will not be memory (data) heavy. They will also not be large, in canvas size, as they will be integrated with the text throughout the book. So sketches of people, drinks, social/historical scenarios etc.
The book is 200+ pages and we have highlighted between 40-60 illustrations which we'd like to do. Originally one of the authors, who is an amateur artist, was going to do the illustrations. However we are both employed full-time and are running out of time.
For a basic reference you can see some drinks attached that the author drew for an app we developed (for the book). (clean & clear)

We do not have a big budget, but this is an incredible project to be a part of with global exposure potential (I know artists hate that 'you'll get exposure' talk, but it's a great bonus on top of payment). You will be named as sole illustrator of the book.
