css compatibility for Internet Explorer

Hello, I have a joomla template that populates fine with firefox but breaks with IE in two certain parts(maincolumn and he footer). I would like someone to fix my css to be compatible with IE... This is very simple for someone exert and it is really urgent so anyone who cannot complete the project within a day please don't place a bid.
