Hi there,
I came across your proposal and given the straightforward nature of your site, I had some thoughts on how you could save on implementation. Using existing WordPress themes and making some minor customizations (coloring, images) we could have a professional looking, mobile responsive site without bringing a designer into the mix.
Some advantages of doing this would be:
- Saving on the cost of a designer
- Your website would be mobile responsive on all devices (iPhone, Android, etc ..) and all browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome)
- You would choose from custom templates that are already being used that are professionally designed
- These custom templates are search engine optimized so Google can easily parse the content for you
Other pitches will likely involve a full website development, which is harmful for two reasons.
1. The cost which will be much higher
2. You may not have full control over your site context (colors, text) which means you will have to continue going to them for help when you need things changed.
3. There will be ongoing charges for fixes and maintenance. Using a WordPress template that isn’t heavily customized allows us to get updates that keep the site usable in new browsers without unexpected overhaul.
I'm really excited about this idea and getting the ball rolling on implementing your site. I hope to hear back from you shortly!
