My idea for this, is that you use "Electroluminescent wires" in the inside side of the blind. an external unit would include a solar power unit, and a light sensor (An electrical engineer could help with designing that). Hi Tom, I'm a mechanical engineer with over 15 years experience in designing, modeling, prototyping and effective manufacturing of different products, ranging from consumer goods to alternative energy systems. I could help with your design with the following observations: - the idea is great, but you have to take care how to implement it; - you can't put lights on a fabric blind, because rolling/unrolling will damage the wires and also because the volume (height of the lights - even leds) will not rolls perfect. - even the idea is ok, is still lot of room for improvements - if you'll award me the project, you'll be amazed of what is possible to do with this concept (and if you'll be pleased with my improvements, I expect a compensation - but this is at your gratitude). How I work and what I'll deliver: based on your idea/sketches/drawings I'll make you an assesment for further development, and a rough model of the product. With your observations for changes/modifications I'll refine the model until you'll be ok with it. After the model finished, I'll design the required components and execution drawings. I'll deliver you the 3D model in different CAD formats (iges, stl, stp, obj - to embed into website), 3D pdf so you'll be able to open/view the model into the regular Acrobat Reader and execution drawings with BoM(bill of materials)
