Hi I need a very simple scrapper... You may write this in any language, as long as it will work on Windows OS (desktop application). No need for logging into any account or managing cookies. Here is what the application will do.. 1) I will load it with a list of URLs/links. 2) It will go and scrap some data from these links. (Data is very clear ... I can see what i need in the source code of the pages). so it's not hidden in ajax or flash or anything like that. That's all what needs to be done... Follow the links that I start with >>> extract some data >>> get other links application discovers Save data in TXT file. Thanks, Mary

Seems straight forward. For the application I figure a browse button for opening the urls/links file and a save button to select file name and a scrape button to grab the data. I can knock this out quickly, just need an example of the sites and data you want scraped and the format of the urls/link file. I plan to use c# and winforms since you will be using windows but I can provide a console app if preferred.

I have created many similar utils in Java for dumping databases, parsing files and data mining from websites. I bided little high, because I dont know exact specifications about how many links will enter process, rate of recursion in newly found links, etc. I offer simple Java *.jar file with sources for easier portability between different OS.
