I want a shell script that takes 6 variables. FD1, FD2, (File Directory1 and FileDirectroy2) F1,R1,F2,R2 (these variables will hold short snipets of text). The Shell script functionality is as follows: For each text (xml) file in File Directory FD1, find the text in variable F1 and replalce it with the text in R1. Then find the text in F2 and replace it with the text in R2. Take the altered file and save it in the directory FD2. Example: File directory C:\home\BHC has 5 files in it [login to view URL],[login to view URL],[login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] Each .xml file has serveral instances of the text " &BHC_" and "x34x." The shell script would hold the variables : 1. FD1 ="C:\home\BHC" 2. FD2 = C:\home\HRJ" F1="&BHC_" , R1= "&HRJ_"F2 = "x34x" and R2= "c53c" The shell script would cycle through each of the 5 files in the C:\home\BHC directory and do a find /replace in each of the 5 xml files replacing the text in F1and F2 with the text in R1 and R2 ,then save the file in directory C:\home\HRJ (which is in variable FD2.

I hope you want a linux shell script. But your example gives example of windows OS while naming directory. Nevertheless, I can do it if its linux bash shell scripting job.
