Design guidelines:
This app provides a fun way for people to compare their heights with the heights of celebrities.
There are two main screens.
1st screen:
Greeting/welcome screen. Refer to 1 jpg for layout.
Set on a white back ground. Title is written in a cursive font. The titled is tilted slightly. Two human silhouettes fill most of the screen. Female and Male. Use second female silhouette from F jpg and first male silhouette from M jpg.
Behind these two silhouettes is what appears to be a line up board that can be found in American police stations, the kind seen on Law & Order, the TV show, the kind used to measure heights of criminals.
2nd screen:
Main screen. Refer to 2 jpg for layout.
The top part looks like a police line up. The left side measures height in feet or centimetres (units used depends of the option selected in the Settings button - described below under Button 1. Think of the DVD cover to the film "The Usual Suspects".
Three silhouettes fill this screen. They are cut in half vertically. (Same silhouettes used on main screen).
Below these figures is an Apple ad.
Below the Ad are four buttons.
Button 1:
Settings: Use any simple icon you can find that is copyright free.
Clicking this button brings up the settings screen. Refer to 4 jpg for layout.
2 options are available. An option labelled "Random" and an option labelled "Metric/Imperial". More on Random later. The metric/imperial option changes the numbers used in the Main screen from feet to centimeters.
Button 2:
Option to enter the height and gender of the app user. Will be either Metric or Imperial depending on what was selected in the Settings button. Default is set to Imperial (feet and inches).
Button 3:
Option to select from a list of celebrity heights. Clicking this button opens up a scroll list. Refer to excel list. Refer to jpg 3 for layout example.
Button 4:
Option to select from a list of celebrity heights. Clicking this button opens up a scroll list. Refer to excel list. Refer to jpg 3 for layout example.
Button 2, 3, and 4 will change the silhouettes size and the type (gender) used.
For example, after clicking button 2, the app user will have the option of selecting gender and height. The selection will change the gender and height of the silhouette directly above this button. If male is selected, the image used will be the M jpg (first image), female, the F jpg (second image). The length of the jpg will be stretched or shrunk to fit the measurements on the left of the screen.
Similarly for button 3 and 4, if Tom Cruise and Amy adams is selected, whose heights are 170cm/5'7'' and 151cm/5'1" respectively, the silhouettes will be stretched or shrunk.
The app user will be able to scroll buttons 3 and 4, and the silhouettes, left or right. Scrolling the buttons to the right will cause the figures to disappear behind the edge of the screen. button 2 and silhouette above it will remain fixed in place. If "Random" is selected in the Settings in button 1, the app will generate, randomly, different celebrity names, and the silhouettes will be adjusted according to height and gender of the celebrity name.
That is, new names will scroll onto the screen from behind the edge of the screen or from behind silhouette above button 2.
Refer to jpg 2 for example.
Rotating the phone will also rotate the app. Refer to jpg 5.
A fifth button will also be introduced. The function and purpose will be the same as buttons 3 and 4.
Turning the app onto it's side will also reveal the remaining half of silhouettes 2 and 3, as well as introducing a complete, fourth silhouette. Silhouette 1 remains halved.
Please feel free to make improvements or suggestions.
