This project has two functions.? The first is simple, the second is more involved.? The first part? entails adding an Admin grid to an existing module and making the UI better. It's a simple pair of modules. One allows users to add links of their choice. The other module shows those links on the homepage just to that user. This portion of the project is explained in the attached document for the existing module.
The second part of the module involves making a scheduling component to scan every page of the portal at a preset interval, test each link found on the page (regular expressions), and present an email report to all admin showing links that were found to be broken (they should be hyperlinked in the email so admin can quickly test them).? Additionally, admin can visit the module and see this report of broken links and test them there, as well, and use a checkbox to select any number of them and then click an "Ignore" button which means these links will not be tested in the future (but they will be listed in hyperlink format in the email report so admin can manually test them).? Admin shoudl be able to specify a "Subjet Line" for the email report.? Note: This functionality is not discussed in the attached document but is required for this project.
There is a Sonata Links Checker module available that can be used as a good starting point as it did most of this link checking already in an earlier version of DNN.
