I've got a problem trying to setup Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 on Gentoo Linux to use as BT headset and microphone. I use:
Alsa:
media-sound/alsa-tools-1.0.16 USE="gtk midi"
media-sound/alsa-utils-1.0.16 USE="midi"
BlueZ:
net-wireless/bluez-libs-3.36,
net-wireless/bluez-utils-3.36: USE="alsa gstreamer usb",
net-wireless/bluez-gnome USE="gnome"
I also use Gnome bluetooth-applet under Xfce4.
My ~/.asoundrc:
[login to view URL] {
type bluetooth
device XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
}
[login to view URL] {
type bluetooth
device XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
}
[login to view URL]{
type plug
slave {
pcm headsetraw
}
}
I can hear music and voice with my BT headset, but microphone does not work. When I try to:
arecord -D headset -f S16_LE
it just hungs.
Need step-by-step instructions how to setup subj to get microphone working on Linux (preferable Gentoo but other distros may also work).
