I am in need of a simple warehouse management console. The project needs to be written in either Classic ASP or .NET (Prefferably VB.NET if done this way). I curretnly have a 80% complete database to be used for the project. It is in sql2000 but when moving to a web platform I would prefer to be Access/mySql compliant rather than mssql. (All three if possible).
Functionality:
1. Receive products by sku into the inventory
a. group products into a "case ID"
b. group "case ID's" into "pallet ID's"
c. store inventory on a location basis by either eaches, cases or pallets
2. Import flat file and/or xml order files from our clients into the database for processing
3. Pick from inventory according to the imported orders.
a. pick process will guide user through the inventory locations for the optimum pick path
4. Pack merchandise into "carton ID's" for outbound tracking, must be able to handle multiple carton ID's for a single order
a. Print shipping labels as cartons a completed
b. Print packing slip when order is completed
5. Integrate with UPS / FedEx / USPS so that shipping may be done from a single computer and all shipment information generated can be stored in our database.
6. Reporting screens to view activity in the warehouse
7. All transactions must be tracked (receipt, ick, pack , ship) so that we can set up email alerts for on a client by client basis. IE: send email when a receipt has been completed etc...
8. Inventory control - stock relocation and replenishment, we will need to be able to easily move merchandise from one location to another.
9. Cycle counts, we will need to be able to freeze (lock) inventory by location/style so that counting may be performed.
That is the general gist of it. I would prefer to have the web interface at a minimum use header/right/left/center/footer configuration so that we change up the look for wach installation. I would prefer the whole thing to be template based.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
I intend to have this installed on any windows web host. Thus the requirement to switch to access/mysql as these database formats are standard on most web hosts these days.
Target Browser will be Internet Explorer. If it's no big deal, I would like to be mozilla compliant but if it doesn't happen it's no big loss to me.
