The website for a boutique communications consultancy, specializing in media training and crisis management skills leveraging the full power of WordPress as a CMS tool. Job description: A WordPress savvy web designer/developer who can: - create WordPress themes from scratch, or create customized child themes from pre-existing themes. - develop responsive designs and troubleshoot cross-browser, cross-device compatibility - customize WordPress administration pages to meet content management needs Skills: Experience developing, debugging, and performance tuning websites using WordPress. Experience with search engine optimization on the WordPress platform We are seeking someone who: - is able to provide accurate time estimates and is punctual with assignments - available regularly for video conferencing as required - has excellent written and verbal communication skills - is able to provide routine, detailed status updates on project - is a self-motivated problem solver The site will require: - customization of existing WordPress files - custom post types - custom taxonomies - custom templates - pages with short code mockup for ease-of-editing Web development project type: New Website Client side or server side development: Server Side Development Specific programming languages desired: WordPress, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, mySQL, - jQuery a plus, but not necessary Desired website or component functionality: AJAX-powered filterability, responsive design, user-editable slideshow Additional comments: - Selected candidates will be interviewed via video-conference. - All applicants must provide a current resume and portfolio/links to previous web work. - Looking to develop long-term working relationships with our freelancers! - NYC/Tri-state hires a plus, but not a must. - Payment will be issued upon completion of project via PayPal or certified check (whichever is preferred).
