Hi, installing, configuring and developing for WordPress from 2005. The major part is mapping database fields. From your project description I guess you need to merge users but have some custom data (which would go to a new table in the existing main database). I have done database merge in the past from PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2 and Oracle to MySQL so merging two MySQL databases (correct?) is easier. I have no other active work on Freelancer (trying to sign off finished projects, waiting for buyers too long!) so can start in a day. Best Regards, Matt S Rinc

Hello, I have worked directly with the WordPress database and integrating custom databases into WordPress websites regularly over the last few years with projects including (but not limited to); - Setting up a WordPress site that allowed users to have one username and password across multiple domains - Creating a lightweight 'Notes' page for an online training program that would automatically post their notes as a new entry to their blog on a different website - Integration between a membership platform (Wishlist Member) and a CRM (Ontraport) that also extended the functionality of the membership platform. The way that I would solve your specific requirements depends on the table and further discussion with yourself, but my primary solution would be to import the tables required from the custom database into the original WordPress database. The reason we would import the tables in the original database instead of creating a new one is so that we can access the tables using the existing WordPress Database object. This makes the customizations that I would make to the specific pages consistent with the rest of the website, and easy to understand for future developers. To avoid any confusion, I would also change the name of the imported tables so that it is clear what they are used for. Please contact me further if you would like to discuss.
