Change part of a tagging system from words to icons

I have a tagging system which is pretty simple and straight forward - each object ("station") has between 8-56 tags, divided by categories. I want to change some of the categories, and make them less textual and more "pictogramic" for the user. That means, that the user will choose form icons, or range or other options, and that will translate into values inputted to db. NO ICONS OR IMAGES NEED TO BE DESIGNED FOR THIS PROJECT, they will all be provided for the chosen bidder. No big structural change needs to take place, mainly a user interface change. More details and code/db files will be given to relevant bidders.
