There must be at least two levels of permissions, one admin and one user level. See attached overview of project. =>What version of MS Access? 2003/2007 or onward How many users will use this database? We can use MS Access as backend, but for more than 5 users and huge data we suggest MYSQL as backend. 1. Every query gets a number (whether it is an inspection, pool or structural) =>Is this entered by the user or it should automatically populated? 2. The number is the same for the query, quote and job => Query, Quote and job details should be entered in project details table or we should to create separate tables. 3. The number relates to the PROJECT (clients can have more than one project) =>Ok. based on the initial details & assumptions I will quote $1195 and hope to finish in 25 days. You can go for MySQL/PHP if 1 - The expected records could exceed a million in a couple of years. 2 - You need web connectivity - that is if you need your people across various locations to connect live to the db. However the Mysql/php project will be 1 - Much more expensive to build and even more expensive to maintain. 2 - Extremely user unfriendly - you will not be able to make even small changes without the help of your developer.
