Amazon API expert - must have experience! - repost

[login to view URL] - summary of existing problem Introduction The site is very simple. all we want to do is query the amazon book database and put the books up on my site for sale that were newly released that same day only. for some reason amazon does not do that on its site. i want to let my visitors see the books available to purchase (not pre-order) that very day! similar to seeing the movie on the first day it is released in the theater. that is the whole site. but finding all new books on amazon that day is for some reason difficult. You will see at the site it does not really work yet - it pulls some books but not all. I think around 200-300 books are released every day yet the site only finds a handful. Problem I have had one coder set up the site who could not fix the problem. Another coder who was an expert in Amazon API said: 1. First said, “it can be done by using the product advertising API ItemSearch function with SearchIndex=Books. and the max page number is 400 with 10 at one [login to view URL] the max listings we can get is about 4000. that must be more than all of the books in one day. so [login to view URL] we have a cron job running everyday. we can get all of the newly books.” 2. Then he said “i can get at least 4000 items each [login to view URL] according to amazon's [login to view URL] is not allowed to store the data into [login to view URL] means they don't provide functions like you want,such as get the daily updated books . the amazon API is used to search items on its database. as my investigation so far. i think this is not do-able to get the daily new data from [login to view URL] i will ask for the freelancer.com to cancel our project. sorry for the inconvenience.” Work Around Is it really impossible?? If so : 1. is there any way to get some new books in the feed just not all of them??. or to get books for the week instead of that day??. can you think of any way to work around this to do some of what I want? if you can think of a way to do some of this i can raise the cost of the project. 2. if it is impossible could you briefly send me a description of what you looked at and why it is impossible? i need something to pass on to the next programmer I am going to hire and i just dont understand the technical details thanks in advance!
