A bot is a computer program that can access a website and strike or lay bets, just as any human punter can. Unlike a regular punter, though, it does not need to eat, drink or sleep, and can request a web page several times a second. About a dozen Betfair clients are thought to have been using bots to scan the site for chances to bet overbroke, or otherwise gain a guaranteed edge on other users. The program responsible is believed to have been written by a Betfair user who regularly posts messages in the site's users' forum under the name "Gary". _Although his claims are difficult to verify, he has stated that his bot has won him hundreds of thousands_ of pounds in recent months. It is possible, for instance, to write a program that scans active markets looking for one that is momentarily "overbroke", allowing it to back every runner to return a small, but guaranteed, profit. The bot places the required bets automatically and instantly, and moves on to look for its next opportunity. Others can be programmed to notice obvious mistakes - a punter, say, who has tried to offer a horse at 2.0 in Betfair's digital odds system, and offered 2.2 instead. A bot could also be set up to back and lay consistently around a given price. What Im looking for is a bot which is as automated and idiot proof as possible as Im very bad at maths and the like. I want it to do everything I've mentioned and more. The ideal thing would be to have a bot which I could trust enougth to be able to go away on holiday for two weeks come back and still have it making me money. I would like it to have settings which I can adjust, but I want the programmer to define what he/she believes to be the best settings and have those as the default which I can go back to at the click of a button anytime. I need a programmer that is good at communicating and can perhaps send me a useable or non-usable/ time limited/ non time limited (im a very flexible easy customer) what have you demo during the design process. I am willing to pay between upto $350 dollars for a well written bot plus performance related bonuses for as long as this thing is making me money. This could potentially run into tens of thousands.
