ActiveX in VB6 needed for web page

I need someone to write a couple small routines in an activex for a web page for me to learn how to do what I need. I need to put this activex on my web site for the user to click a button to launch. The control needs to then look on the user's computer for a specific file and if it is there, check the version of it to see if its the latest. If not or if the file is not there I want to download it to the user's computer and then launch it. Since this is done from an ASP web page, I want to pass some data to the program that is run as well. This could be saved as a text file int he same folder as the app is run from. So, in a nutshell it looks on the user's computer for a file. If not there, download and install it. If there, check version and update if needed. Then run the application. Questions I have first: 1. The program uses a DLL file with it so it needs to download the app and the DLL and place them in a folder under Program Files. This is fine right? 2. Will this control be created as a DLL or an activex OCX file? 3. Can the activex being run to check/load/launch the app be digitally signed? 4. Can you show me how to digitally sign everything so it shows up safe? ADDED: ====== To help explain, the application is an EXE I wrote in VB and uses a DLL file with it. The DLL is a control that I am using in the EXE. So help me find the best way to install these through the web and launch them which checking to make sure they are the latest versions each time. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
