Dialog box for SQL Reporting Tool

I require a VB6 form to be built which enables users to produce a report definition, which will be submitted as XML to a SQL reporting API I have already produced. The API accepts an XML document consiting of Report Groups (sections), each of which consist of a Select Statement, and some meta data. At the moment, the only way to create new report definitions is to write a raw XML file, which is a bit yuck. I want a pretty dialog box which enables end users to define the report without touching the XML. At the very least the dialog must provide the ability to create groups, and enable the user to manually enter the Select statement. At it's richest I'd like to see a graphical Select statement builder. You will be expected to extract all data from the form, package it up as an XML doc of the appropriate format and then display the result. I will provide, a binary copy of the Reporting API, a test harness that will run the api for use in building the dialog, as well as a schema definition for the XML interface. You'll see attached a zip containing an example XML Report Request file, a gif of my run report dialog (not very attractive, I'm looking for you to do better), and an example XSLT file which is used to display the XML report response. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc.). 4) All code MUST be well commented. ## Platform Visual Basic 6 SP 6 running on Windows XP SP2. The underlying database used is MSDE.
