Developing a Perl Reporting Plugin for STK (Satellite Toolkit)

I am currently seeking to build a Perl plugin for STK (Satellite Toolkit) to help generate reports of which hurricanes can be imaged using a variety of earth observation satellites. The data is being parsed from standardized emails producing 4-D hurricane vector maps that are currently viewable in STK. What I need done is to find conjunctions between these paths and certain areas of interest (AOI's), namely islands susceptible to hurricane damage. In order to rapidly ascertain which imaging opportunities need to be prioritized, a report of which areas can be imaged on which orbital cycle needs to be published to an internal website (editable URL). The key problems are: - polygon intersection detection - parsing of geonames within matching polygon - output of HTML report with image thumbnail of area to be imaged with polygon overlay The design needs to be modular so as to be able to use the same framework for any ground based event, including flooding, etc. The current codebase is written in Perl, however Python knowledge is an asset, as the next project may be a python implementation.
