We are interested in looking at redoing our existing website which has been programmed in html ([login to view URL]) and it's current shopping cart which uses Opencart software. What is the best option for a small business that has aspirations to grow it's commerce sales (proposed traffic of 2,000-4,000 purchases/year) Is it better to create and individually designed website/shopping cart or use a standard platform such as wordpress and add a shopping cart to this. I need the website to be more dynamic and have the ability to add weekly stories and change the content every now and again. I need the shopping cart to look like it is part of the website and not as an add on. I want the ability to add product ranges as we grow (currently 3 products, 2 different flavours, 3 different sizes) with a view we may have 10-20 other options. Importantly I need a solid back end to the shopping cart so I can track customers, run specials/discounts for particular markets and I want to be able to track which sales are generated from particular sales reps. I would classify us as a small business wanting a good cost effective web/shopping cart which gives us the ability to manage the content of the web/cart ourselves but have room for expansion (if required in the future). Questions: What is the best approach to use? Individual coded site or something like word press? Feedback would be appreciated so we can progress with our work scope. Thanks

Hi, we would be looking at moving you onto a CMS platform (likely Wordpress) so that you have the flexibility to change content and add posts and further content. That said, we would build a bespoke website so it doesn't appear you are on a cms platform and then blend in the shop cart etc so that it looks all part of one website.
