The Lambda function will be launched by a SNS message to a SNS queue.
In that SNS message will be details that the PHP code will use. So when the Lambda function launches, it will be launched by a SNS message, and that SNS message also needs to be accessible by the PHP code inside the Lambda function.
If this is not possible, please advise, and we will find a workaround solution.
------
The Lambda function will need permissions to access my RDS database, so the PHP code can:
- select records from RDS database (MySQL)
- update records in RDS database
I believe this is done by giving the Lambda function a role or security group inside AWS.
------
Outcomes:
- set up Lambda function with PHP
- PHP code can access the SNS message contents that triggered the Lambda function
- PHP code can communicate with RDS
