I need a AC to DC power supply capable of converting 80v-260v AC to 3.3v DC 500mA. Our space is limited so the designed power supply must be very very small. It does not need to be isolated. We prefer switch mode power supply.

Dear Client, Before I placed my bid here, I already evaluated and analyzed my solutions. I got two solutions; first is with a transformer and the second one has no transformer. Since you are OK with no isolation, I focus on the no transformer design. Particularly my solution is using an AC-DC buck converter (switch mode) that can handle universal voltage range 85-265Vac. The operation is can be extended down to 80Vac without any problem as the current limit of the controller is not yet reach with the 3.3V, 500mA. I already performed high level design wherein I able to select the parts and get the advanced BOM cost. So far my BOM cost is less than 5$ for 100pcs costing. My solution is compact but can you please share to me to how much space you can allocated with this design? Please give me idea on the length, wide and height. By the way, are after only with a complete circuit schematic? I can further offer you PCB layout if you wanted to do so. I look forward in working with you. Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi, Please share your complete project requirements(like board space available for converter). About us: We have 10 years of experience in Product development. Micro-controllers we can work on PIC, STM32, PSOC and AVR and also we have all the development kit and instruments available with us. For PCB design we use KICAD v4. Hi! I have designed several switched mode power electronics converters that have very small footprints. You are probably looking for the smallest possible footprint for this power converter. I am the lead engineer of a team that has designed a 1000W switched mode power inverter which measures less than 5 inches a side! A few of our products make use of AC-DC converters that are as small as 10mmx20mm. Your power requirements are very low and the design will fit in a PCB measuring less than 1 inch a side. Since isolation is not needed, the design will also be cost effective. The project will be completed in two phases. Phase-1: Schematic capturing and SPICE simulation. (5 days) Phase-2: PCB design and Gerber file generation. (5 days) After submission of the project, I can also develop a few samples of the device at a nominal additional price of $250 for 3 units. Sample development time will be around 3 weeks. I will provide all relevant files along with a detailed datasheet and documentation of the device at the time of project submission.
