Telephony Speech Collection – UK English

We are looking for UK English speakers to help with a voice collection project. We are paying $40 for your participation. These recordings will be used to improve technologies in at-home electronic devices and speech recognition software. All you need to do is make four telephone calls of 15 minutes each to a friend or family member. The calls will be made using your mobile phone, but via our web interface. You won't be charged a call cost. Each call will be recorded. To participate, you and the person you call must be: • over 18 years old • native speakers of English with a native English accent • located in England only. • consent to being recorded for this project • not have already participated in this project for more than 4 calls. You will need: • an internet connection to access the web interface to initiate each call • the details (age, gender, phone number and dialect region) of the person you are calling • a mobile phone (calls cannot be made using landline telephones, bluetooth or other headphones, or hands-free devices) This task should take no more than 2 hours and callers will receive an incentive of USD $40 (approximately £30 depending on the exchange rate) within 10 business days after completion of quality checks.
