Hi! How are you?
I´m Natalia and I work using both, ArcGis and Qgis software. I propose to you to write a Python script in Qgis so you can automatize the process. As Qgis is open-access software, it can be programmed with by far more flexibility than ArcGis. I can write a code that changes the symbology of the wind farm layer or many layers, adds background layers, do calculations, etc, and runs only by clicking on a "play" button. Of course, all the features related to the geospatial position will be highly accurate, because we can work by using appropriate projections in the same script.
I was taking a look to 3D models in Qgis, and they can also be done. I´ve never built one, but I can develop the map first and then I could explore the 3D model possibilities.
Why are you looking to develop your project using ArcGIS? Do you have this preference for a particular reason, or could you change to Qgis?
Have you already got layers to work with or do you need to start from scratch?
I´m open to any question, so send me a message if you want to talk more about your project.
Good luck with your project!
Natalia
