Please read the attached PDF. It has important information. The purpose of this project is to create an iPad mobile application to provide users with the ability to quickly and easily record time-value information in a very user-friendly and interactive manner. The app will need to store data locally on the iPad and synchronize with a central database when connected. The central database will be MSSQL 2012. Azure will be considered. Although it appears that this application is similar to a standard timesheet the emphasis is on: Simplification Speed of data capture Linkages to other data sets Much effort is based on specific assets - once an asset is chosen the customer is known and the activity is most likely known Recording of value added by technical personnel as opposed to tracking of timesheet Ability to determine profitability of various services and products In essence the following must be recorded by technical personnel: Date and Time (of the activity) Asset (Selected from a table) Customer (Selected from a table) Country of enquiry (defaults to the country of the customer) Activity (Selected from a table) Duration (hours, minutes) Value of activity Comments (free text) The following concept is vital to understand: Technical service engineers (users of the system) are not clerical people. They are experts in their field, providing a valuable service, and should be able to enter time value information quickly, easily and with minimum disruption to their day. The application will need to download from a number of tables in the central cloud database: Time-value records entered by the user going back 50 days. The user may have used another device to capture records A list of about 2000 assets to be used to allocate time-value records to A list of about 1000 customers User access table The application will need to upload time-value records back to the central cloud database

Hello, Here's the highlight of our proposal: 1. I know you only need iPad only, while we can use Xamarin to develop the app to make it cross-platform on both iPad and Android. If you need Android version later, we won't charge any extra price. 2. We'll use Azure SQL for the database and use Azure Mobile App (API setup based on Aazure SQL) for api, because Azure Mobile SDK has a built-in feature of online offline data sync which will help the data sync feature of this iPad app much. 3. Since you don't provide UI design assets, we'll follow the green color schems to make a clean UI design (mostly use the out-of-box iOS UI elements) About my services: I'm a lead dev of a Xamarin/.NET/Azure team with Xamarin experience since 2012. Dear Sir, I have read Project Description & checked the attached document to understand the overall scope of work. Yes, you have nicely explained everything in the attached PDF document but I am afraid that his project cannot be done in US $3,000, which is your selected budget, I mean this is very low budget for such a big project. Queries: 1. Do you have the design ready for the app? If yes, can you share with us? 2. If not, do you have any hand drawn wireframes which can provide the layout and functional idea for the app? 3. Do you know of any sample apps which can be refered as similar app? Please provide links / names to refer with specifics for things to check in these apps. 4. Do you have already have the web services available to fetch and store the data on the server? If you want us to be creating the webservices, we would be needing the backup of the existing database so that we can review and work accordingly. 5. We assume the orientation of the iPad app would be landscape only. 6. We understand that the backend admin side of the things are not needed in our scope of work. 7. As you have mentioned that some of the data could be quite huge, do you expect the iPad app to download and keep all the master / reference data locally on the device? Can you provide us any idea of the volume of the master data involved? 8. We assume that you want all the filtering and sorting to be handled inside the iPad app instead on the server via webservices to support complete offline function for the app. 9. we understand that the iPad app is not supposed to calculate or determine the profitability of various services/products and this is something which would be done on the backend server. Hi, I'm relatively new to freelancing, but I have 19 years of experience in IT and software development, including in iOS, MSSQL (incl. 2012) and Azure. What you're asking for seems relatively straightforward: -Build an easy to use/simplified timesheet to be utilized by technical service engineers; I infer they are working "on-site"/"in-the-field" when needing to use this simplified timesheet. -The data is stored in the cloud (Azure) in a MSSQL 2012 database. -The iPad app will need to be able to fully operate in online/offline mode and be able to sync data to the cloud when in online mode. I propose the following: -Build the iOS app (for use on iPad) per the 'Requirement and Technical Design' document (very thorough and detailed doc, thank you!) using Delphi as the development language. -If expansion beyond the iOS platform is desired in the future, Delphi will allow a single code base to build native apps also for Windows, Android and OSX. With respect to 'technology to handle the SQL back end', if I could please be provided some clarification on what is meant by 'to handle'. Do you mean which cloud provider is recommended or are you asking about middleware (including an API) to proxy the data between the iPad app and MSSQL database, or something else entirely?
