My wife Jen is the most incredible woman, wife, mom and teacher that any family could wish for; serving as inspiration and north star to me and our children--Michael (15), Ella (10), Julia (10) and Cailynn (8). The below bullets outline how we achieved the American Dream, had it stolen by the corruption that founded the 2008 financial collapse and now are being threatened with the unimaginable. It is our hope that upon review you'll be inspired to design a gofundme campaign that saves our family: 1992-1996 Joe served as U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran (Mogadishu Somalia). 1999 Founded & scaled startup to 8-figures revenue, > 25% net earnings and were respected example of the rags-to-riches, work hard, give back story poor kids like us were taught to aspire. (Tax Returns Available) 2008 Negotiated sale of company & secured $42M offer from Fortune 500 company. Three weeks later Lehman Brothers imploded in disgrace, resulting in both igniting full financial collapse and acquirer of our company pulling out of transaction. (Documentation Available) 2009-2011 Seven million dollars of personal assets, to include our home, kid's college funds, savings, retirement, etc. is cashed out little by little in futile attempt to keep company afloat and keep our team of 100 employed. (Documentation Available) The last years have been remarkable only in the struggle, false starts and scorn assigned an under-capitalized entrepreneur who fails to deliver. In September our family of six was evicted from our home, and we spent the next two and half months in a motel while we saved and searched for another in same school district. Three weeks ago the motel manager got nervous about the outstanding bill, which we couldn't pay, and I was arrested. The local district attorney has made clear that the threat of being ripped from my family and going to jail is real if we cannot raise the funds to repay the debt. We believe that people will be as disgusted as we are that not once, but twice in ten years our family--a wife that is a public school teacher, four great kids and I--are being thrown away like garbage.
