As part of a 'Readers are Leaders' campaign, I am starting a Book Club a the co-working space I am working (Blockchain Centre, Melbourne Australia). The goal is to encourage people working from the space to read more, whilst also fostering the community and social aspects of co-working by promoting the exchange of ideas, skills and knowledge. The book club structure is really flexible, people are not limited to all reading the same book, and can even choose to read essays, journal articles or whitepapers. We will be meeting regularly to share what we have read, learned and some personal insights. I need a website to serve as an online portal for the book club. Functionality required - 1. Ability for users to register by creating a profile. 2. Profile to include groupings/labels/categories by co-working space and company they work for. 3. Each profile to have the ability to create a public library where users can add and reviews books they have read, are reading or want to read. 4. Ability to gather and display data - have a leaderboard of which company is reading more, which books are trending, etc. 5. The main screen - newsfeed - to be very simple and visual (pinterest style) and display which books are being read, trending, etc. 6. Basic user engagement - likes, comments, chat. 7. Ability to add referral links to booksellers to earn commissions on book sales (Amazon, etc.) Scalable - We would like to extend the 'Readers are Leaders' to other co-working spaces, and corporates in our city and around the world. The website should be able to add new features and be scaled easily to be able to support more users, etc. Useful resources - 1. Goodreads API - pull all the books' information and library functionality [login to view URL] 2. Leverage existing wordpress themes.
