I ran a computer store for many years starting in the dos days and wrote all my store programs in dbase. Got out of it about 1999 and am not up on todays stuff. I put slide shows in locations and presently go by the locations with a new directory on an SD card and change out the shows. I bought an android tablet with wifi capablity and mini hdmi port. I would like to install a tablet like this in the location connected to the internet. When it is turned on I would like for the tablet to run a slide show from the jpg files in a directory. I would like to be able to update that directory on the tablet via the internet. I spoke with someone from drop box and it sounded as like I could store files in different directories on drop box and have the tablet connect and download the new files.

Hi, We have a great solution for this. In fact two options whichever suits you: Drop box. and using the API you can manage the files, remove or add new files. Other method which is even more efficient and fulfill your requirements upto 100% is making at your own hosting. You need not to do anything, we'll design a portal for you within the same price and time frame and you need to buy a $15 hosting from the godaddy. Rest of tasks will be done by us and you can easily view, upload or remove files remotely , even if you are at phone .

Hay - I am glad i met someone who worked on DOS and would really happy to help you. I can build you a web-based program which you can update through an admin panel remotely from anywhere. on the other end of program, someone can just go to a link and play the specific slide-show using an android tablet, laptop or computer as it will run on any device. did i get it correctly? we may need to chat before i understand it more.
