Write sample code for communicating with an API

Write a code that communicates with an exisiting API to do the below functions. The code will later be implemented in a project. For each function please list the variables that will be used for later integration. Also each function should return success or error after execution. In addition, i will need to pool data from the api to the ajax table instead of the current mysql source. this is a small quick task that can be easily coded in 2 hours.
