My last product achieved just that: Stream video and audio from a server to the browser (see [login to view URL]). There is basically two ways to do it: 1) Using web-socket from server to client, and play using Web Audio API. The advantage of this is that you control any streaming steps: You can transcode whatever source format you have on the server, and stream simple compressed format (like mp3), decode it on the client side and play it 2) Using HTML standard <audio> tag, that reads the audio bytestream from the server: Connect to the server URL (address and port) and play it. To know which is the best approach, I need to know: 1) Do you want both server and client sides to be implemented (or do you have already a server publishing the audio on some port) 2) What format are the servers' sound files ?
