Hello. I may not on the first glance your best choice, but I think I can make your project a success. I am a German-English translator, specialized in Japanese and Vietnamese translations. I studied and graduated in Germany, at Bochum's Ruhr-University with the major Prehistorc Archaeology and Japanese History. I am specialized in the Japanese Iron Age. Jobs for archaeologists, however, are even rarer than for translators, so I started working in a Vietnamese project with similar focus. I am concerned with glass research. I speak Japanese and Vietnamese - German and English are both my native languages (I consider German my dominant language, though).
I have deep knowledge of Japanese history, culture, and arts, as well as excellent English reading skills and do translations and proof-reading for all my languages. I have published academic papers and regularly give lectures on my research topics.
I started translating during an exhibition project on Vietnamese prehistory. I worked as a project manager for a German museum and translated texts, documents, and brochures for the scientists and staff members (translations were German, English, and Vietnamese).
I became freelancer in 2012 and since then have been translating Japanese, Vietnamese, English, and German. I have translated several short stories, novels, and business documents from Japanese to English and/or German.
I would be pleased to work for this project and look forward to hearing your reply. Best regards, KB
