As an independent contractor, you will teach Chinese children under 12 ,using the platform and lesson material that we provide, and have all the tools necessary to make it happen. About Wonders Wonders-Reading/Writing Workshop is USA Sishu’s premier product line. It is an American primary school program developed based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) of the United States. Our primary school teachers have a clear objective to make English a tool for learning, working, and thinking. This gives our students the power to express and communicate with the world. By integrating an American standard of education with the Chinese education system, It is having a major impact on the lives of our students everyday. The Basics The classes: Small classes with one or two students The curriculum: Wonders-Reading/Writing Workshop, or others created from the ground up by our in-house team The timing: Must be available to teach during our peak evening and weekend hours The place: Conveniently teach from home The necessities: All you will need is a computer, a strong internet connection, and a noise-cancelling headset - we provide the rest The benefits: Hourly payment from $15 to $18. Also ongoing professional development through our teacher training programs as needed. The culture: You will learn about Chinese culture through classroom interaction with our students. Qualifications BA degree or higher Experience teaching kids Experience in U.S. or Canadian education systems At least one teaching certificate: state certifications, TESOL, TEFL, etc. (Preferred) ESL teaching experience (Preferred) Position Details Contract type: Independent contractor Start date: Immediately Contract term: 12 months Hours: Lesson times need to be during our (China) peak time windows: Monday - Friday, 6pm- 9pm, Saturday & Sunday, 9am to 9pm (with break as needed). Minimum hours required are 4 week days and 1 weekend day.  Payment: We pay teachers according to the number of hours taught. All teachers begin at a rate of $15 to $18 per 60-minute class, plus a weekly attendance bonus . Teachers are paid through PayPal every two weeks; Special monthly and performance-based bonuses are available.
