The University of Washington’s Institute for Science and Math Education is seeking a contractor as a provider of ongoing website maintenance services on a website built in the Craft CMS. We anticipate that services will take approx. 5 hours per month.
Maintenance involves the day-to-day upkeep associated with the Institute for Science and Math Education’s website STEM Teaching Tools (Craft CMS, [login to view URL]). We are looking for someone who already is familiar with the Craft CMS.
Services are subject to be charged at a rate dependent on experience. We are open to work either on an hourly rate or a monthly retainer; please specify your preference.
Contractor services will include:
● Updating CMS core, plugins, and themes
● Creating and storing backups regularly
● Monitoring security
● Optimizing performance
● Fixing broken images or elements of the website design
● Removal of malware, spam, and malicious code
● Any website support requests, above and beyond what is outlined in package will count towards the monthly allotted time.
● Recovery of website files from backups as needed
● Consultation and guidance on the backend of the web site.
The Institute for Science and Math Education will:
● Clearly communicate information and promptly respond to contractor questions.
● Provide the contractor with access to the STEM Teaching Tools website with the capability to provide the above maintenance services.
We recognize that this contract does not encompass a large quantity of monthly work, but anticipate that the work would be ongoing and, once initial updates are made, most further maintenance could be done on a flexible schedule.
