Kids Stories Audio iPod/iPhone App

The goal of the application is to make an easy interface for young kids to listen to audio stories on an iPod/iPhone/iPad. Visual browsing through the story images as a way of selecting the stories. Audios are streamed from server when selected or if previously downloaded then played locally. The app would be geared towards kids ages 4-8 years old so should be simple and easy to navigate for a kid. Summary of desired features: (See attachment which shows mock-up designs for the desired app) * Audio stories retrieved from RSS feed. Story Title, URL to stream/download mp3 audio of the story, story illustration from feed. When new stories are added the app would update the stories in the app with latest stories showing on the top. * Simple list of all stories with titles and large thumbnail. Scroll through listing with search option. * filter option at top to view all stories, saved stories & unheard stories * Offline listening - download stories into app for offline listening when not connected to internet. When user clicks on the download icon next to player controls it tells the app to download/save this audio in the app for later listening. * Background playing - app should be able to play audio in the background when in other apps and player controls (prev - pause - next) display on locked screen.
