Hi I have extensively worked on 8 bit micro-controllers. In my last project I implemented firmware for Magnetic Stripe Card Reader. The PIC16F690 based firmware read two tracks of the ISO card data from Magtek 21006541. It had the capability to store the card data on an external EEPROM using I2S. The data could then be sent to a host system via Bluetooth [RN-41]. The rate that you are offering is quite low, but if your project is simple I will do it in the rate that suits you [I am in need to good reviews ;).
