Company seeks individual to debug, secure, document (comment), and clean up the source of a web application written in ASP. The program in question is already written. This small project was outsourced to another individual, and while it works, it doesn't meet our standards. Your task will be to analyze the program, and then bring it up to standard by whatever means that you and I deem necessary after your analysis.
Application complexity is relatively simple, not much more complicated than a typical shopping-cart application. It uses Microsoft SQL Server (8.00.2039) database back-end to store information that it receives from a 3rd party institution using said institution's XML service. And then it presents this information to users based on ACLs. Reports (in PDF or HTML format) are generated for each user based on this information.
The skills you will be required to possess include:
* Understanding of basic programming concepts, including OOP
* Experience with code analysis and debugging
* Expert skill with the ASP/ASP.NET scripting language
* Experience and understanding of ANSI and Transact SQL language
* Some experience with standards-compliant XML, HTML, CSS
Attached zip contains a directory listing of the source to get an idea of the structure, and a small sample of the source code you'll be working with, to help you formulate your bid.
