Add string to HTTP header in Internet Explore (BHO)

Write a BHO for Internet Explorer that captures all HTTP GET and POST queries and appends a string to the HTTP header each of outgoing queries. ? Background: --------------- There are many BHO examples that capture and log the URLs that a user has visited. What we are looking for is something similar. We want each query that leaves the users machine to have a specific HTTP header. Then on the server we will be looking at the HTTP header of the incoming queries and extract that token sting that was appended to each query. IE provides a mechanism to capture the queries before they are made and lets your examine the query. The complicated part is to append the HTTP header to the outgoing query. One method is to capture the query before it is made and kill it and issue a new query with the HTTP header. If you choose to implement the BHO this way you must make sure that all the query parameters from the old query are carried over to the new query for both HTTP GET and HTTP POST. ? ## Deliverables Major test scenarios that the BHO must pass: ------------------------------------------------------- Once installed the BHO should not have a negative impact on the browsing experience of the user. * It should let user make any HTTP get or post queries they want. * IE back button should work as normal. * User should be able to fill web forms and have his data posted to it. * It should be fast. * Must work on: IE6,IE7,IE8 and WinXp and Vista ? ? Other requirements: ------------------------- Should be written in C++/ATL Provide test cases for HTTP get and POST type queries. HTTP post should have several different data type. Simple installer (register/unregister the BHO and allow us to test it quickly) The string to append to the HTTP header should be in a registry key. You must read it every time you want to add it to a http query.
