Convert .net3.5 WPF, XAML applications to C++

Our applications are facing performance issues (like start up time, CPU usage and memory consumption) ? with WPF application as compared to applications done in C++. There are different controls that we built using XAML and WPF touch scrollable list ? and ? time spinner etc. ? ? There is a complete tool kit that we might need to convert for better performance.? The overall idea is what would it take to implement an application “home page?? that acted like an application launcher with shortcuts to applications and web sites and have a customizable background. The home page would need to provide support for an optional battery meter and wifi strength meter. At this point, we would like to make the battery meter and WiFi strength meter UI elements reusable by other apps. I’m not sure of the API we would use (e.g. COM/ActiveX or other) and would like suggestions. We are looking for your suggestions on which technology should we use (e.g. using Direct2D or Direct3D and DirectText) using C++. Any challenges that ? we might end up with or that we need to worry for.
