This is a very simple project if you know what you're doing. I need a very **simple custom browser** that will automatically **call a pre-defined URL** upon installation. The software will be installed on **Windows** (and if possible, Mac) computers.
Software must be able to be **"minimized" to taskbar**, while all the time checking a pre-defined URL for updates. When there are updates, software should **pop-up an alert message** with links to open the custom browser window.
Software will need an installer and should be **very light-weight** (< 500kb if possible). It can make use of any installed web browser on the client's computer.
## Deliverables
I'll start with the flow from the user's perspective.
1) User downloads small installer and installs the software on their computer
2) Clicking on "Finish" button after installation is completed opens the custom browser software
3) Upon startup, custom browser software ("The Software") will check whether certain variables are set (can be cookies). If variables are set, it'll call a specific URL. If variables are not yet set, it'll call another URL.
4) The Software will have a simple layout with custom company branding
5) User can minimize The Software to taskbar. The Software still continually monitors URL content for updates. If there are updates, The Software pops-up a message with a link to either accept/decline the update
6) If user accepts request, The Software window will be restored.
