I need an installable desktop mini-app built. Ideally it will be built in Slice or some other flash based desktop projector application so that I may extend the functionality in the future. Essentially the app will alert users when information they have asked to be alerted about is posted on an existing site. User will be presented with a Yahoo type alert ('User X has logged on' and 'You have 12 new messages') User will have a few options; *View More Info (will present a pic and summary data to user which we pushed as well) *View Data (will launch site using a link we include that is already written/working with emails with session/record information) *Turn This Alert Off (will push username/flag back to us where our internal phps will handle database updates) *Turn Alerts Off (will shut application) *Send Message (will push username/text to us where our internal phps will manage db etc.) In addition user can view summary of alerts he/she may have missed when connection and/or pc was off and take the same actions with any in the list. User can also control app; *Auto-Launch when I have internet connection *Show Summaries when app launches *Sound on alerts And user can also turn on/off any alerts from alert contrller. Again, we push the alert names to user so on/off for any pushes user/alertName so we can handle on our end and not push alerts. It is pretty basic in that we control all of the data push and handle all the data sent back, all alert management on site, etc. Just need the basic interface and some way to allow us to push data to the right user without user initiating each alert, so we know whether to push data or not. Alternately I suppose we could push and if we don't get 'pinged' back just queue again but that seems to open potential 'no alert' issues. Secruity would be an issue of course. Since the site is flash we can do any combination of AMFPHP, XML Sockets, etc, whichever is easiest/fastest/most secure.
